A mistaken identity.  What was believed to be a Northern Kestrel, was identified as a Cooper's Hawk.

Expertly spotted by Jennifer. Look closely and you can see this majestic bird of prey. Although the picture was taken at a distance, our state of the art enhancement software was able to zoom in for close up (or I found a stock photo on the internet :)

Osprey aka River Hawk

Another one spotted by Jennifer.  The western osprey has a taste for fish and can reach 60cm in length and 180cm across the wings.

Belted Kingfisher

The majority of Canada's Green Heron population breeds on inland marshes in Ontario

Wild Turkey

5 Wild Turkeys on our side of the river at lookout point were spotted.  It was comical how they ran away in single file.  

Blue Heron

This majestic bird can be seen across the river sitting in his face dead tree preening.  

Wood Thrush

Although difficult to ID, you can hear the amazing flute like song of the wood thrush echoing in the woods.
